Why the main character is named " Crystal"

originally Crystal was a place holder name so that when i used the file it wasn't blank making it easier to find as well as making it playable to players. Finally when i was ready to change her name I googled what thing are related to Saturn. Looking at the List the three gem stones were

-smoky quartz or smoky crystal

- Garnet

- Black pearl

Then I looked at plants, mushroom as well as some herbs were on the list. However, other then mushrooms there wasn't a common plant that i figure would be easy for everyone to read and say effecting people talking about the game. When looking at mushroom that seemed too masculine as well a opening the door to a bunch of bad memes.

 So I went back to the gem stones. Looking at them Pearl, Garnet and Crystal are all common names. So a gem stone was the way to go with the name I figured. When looking at the three I felt Garnet was out because many men had the name and I wanted the character to be clearly female for the lead role. Then I looked at black pearl which would be Pearl. Pearls are thought as way too feminine and dainty, also it is a weak stone and I didn't want her to be seen as weak spiritually. Also at the time I started the game Steven universe was huge, and I didn't want the character to be seen as a copying or thought of in that way. So I went back to Crystal, if I chose it I didn't have to go and change anything I had already done, then on top of that it was the most popular out of all the plants and stone in regards to names so the chance of a player playing with the name was higher. I thought of switching it to Crystal with a K instead of a C like the gem stone. However I wanted it to clearly be the gem stone. So in the end the place holder name was left alone, I think it is funny that the whole reason it became a place holder is I had gotten a Crystal pendent around the time I was starting to make the game.
